Usel provides a wide range of employment programmes across Northern Ireland to assist and support people with disabilities or health related conditions into employment.

Our highly experienced and qualified team of Employment Support Officers and Training Officers work closely with programme participants to explore their career options and provide a range of supports and assistance to help them move into their chosen employment. See below training that we offer.

TRAINING FOR SUCCESS (TFS)

(School Leavers)

 

Training for Success is designed for young people aged 16 - 17, with extended age eligibility for young people with a disability up to age 22 and up to age 24 for those from an in-care background.

Usel delivers Training for Success in vocational areas including;

  • Customer Service

  • ICT Services and Development

  • Stores and Warehousing

  • Business Administration

  • Retail

  • Hospitality

 

The participant will work towards achieving targeted qualifications in each of the four areas outlined below:

  • Personal and social development

  • Employability skills

  • Professional and technical skills

  • Essential skills in communication, application of number and ICT

The programme guarantees training up to 104 weeks (156 weeks for those with a disability) to help you gain the recognised skills and qualifications to help you progress in your chosen career.

Training for Success is delivered across four strands:

  • Skills for Your Life

  • Skills for Work Level 1

  • Skills for Work Level 2

  • Skills for Work Level 3

 

Skills for your life will help you address personal and development needs and gain skills and qualifications you need to get a job or progress to higher level.

(Disability Support)

 

Training for Success is designed for young people aged 16 - 17 (up to 24 years for those requiring additional support). The programme guarantees training up to 104 weeks (156 weeks for those with a disability) to help young people gain the recognised skills and qualifications to help you progress in your chosen career.

Usel provides a wide range of support services for young people with a disability on the programme. Services include:

  • Individual Tailored Levels of Support

  • One-to-one Mentoring

  • Accredited Training Opportunities

  • Job Tasting

  • Work Experience Placements

  • Advice and Guidance

  • Pan-disability Support

  • Employment Driven Progression

 

We will work closely with Training Suppliers to ensure that arrangements are put in place to ensure young people with a disability can benefit fully from their training entitlement.
