USEL operate a manufacturing operation, which currently employs, within a supported environment, over 80 severely disabled people. They make a range of products including Divan Beds, Specialised Equipment Hold-alls, Sports Bags, Wheel-chair Cushions, and School Bags. The workforce within the manufacturing base plays a crucial role in delivering USEL’s philosophy of excellence and the expertise and precision they lend to their task plays a vital part in accomplishing this. Employees receive competitive wages and enjoy good terms and conditions of employment.

The manufacturing operation also undertakes various sub-contract works whereby employees are placed with external employers to carry out specific contracted tasks. This work varies from CCTV monitoring, electronic assembly, and leaflet distribution etc. USEL actively seeks additional opportunities to sub-contract work from third party organisations to widen experiences, choices and opportunities for the disabled workforce.
