USEL contributes to 'Broadening Horizons' of school pupils
USEL has just been congratulated by the Northern Ireland Business Education Partnership for its thoughtful and imaginative approach to its participative activities presented at the recent 'Broadening Horizons' careers event at St. George's Market in October 2003.
This event was organised to give pupils attending Special Needs Schools the opportunity to explore potential career options upon leaving school. Feedback from pupils, teachers and invited guests about the event were very positive. The impact of the event will be sustained throughout the school year as teachers and pupils complete follow up work together in the classroom. Teachers also commented that they too, had participated in a learning experience.
USEL will continue to work with both teachers and pupils throughout the school year and is committed to providing meaningful work placement opportunities to enhance pupil transition experiences from school to the world of work.
