USEL has been successful in winning a number of highly prized Training Awards for training excellence! The good news was revealed on 19th October 2005 at the National Training Award gala dinner held in the Belfast City Hall, where a large gathering of representatives from the public and private sectors joined in the celebration of success.
Congratulating the winners of the prestigious National Training Awards, Employment and Learning Minister Angela Smith said: “Harnessing people power to capitalise on better business performance, improve customer service and develop personal skills is a recipe for success and a real boost for Northern Ireland. The winners can be justifiably proud of their achievement and I applaud their commitment to training”.
During the ceremony USEL with its training partner East Antrim Institute of Further and Higher Education (EAIHFE) collected a Regional Award and a National Award. This means that both organisations will be matched against similar Award winners from the UK to vie for the top honours to be announced later this year in London.
USEL alongside its other training partner Shankill Open Learning Centre (SOLC) encouraged an individual employee of USEL to enter the National Training Award due to his level of personal endeavours and training outcomes. Conor McGrath was successful in obtaining 2 awards also! He obtained a Regional Award and a Fujitsu Individual Award for Personal Achievement.|
Needless to say the celebration event on the night was “electric” and the whole organisation is extremely proud to have had such highly successful outcomes and looks forward to continuing its employee and organisational development and performance.
