| USEL IS NUMBER 1 IN FINDING PAID JOBS FOR DISABLED PEOPLE |

Every year USEL is successful in helping and supporting over 1200 people with disabilities or health conditions find and keep a job. Over 600 businesses are also assisted to recruit and retain employees suited to their business needs.
Employees are placed in all types of businesses and throughout Northern Ireland and in the full range of jobs available. USEL has been successful in building very strong and committed relationships with major Companies and has fruitfully progressed people into many paid employment areas of their choice.
As a result of this track record, USEL has yet again been successful in being awarded a contract by the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL) to roll out its Workable (NI) programme in every area in Northern Ireland.
USEL’s delivery of this programme will offer support to individuals:
· To develop and improve work skills in permanent paid work
· To progress their personal development, and will
· Provide continuing support over a period of time
USEL will assist employers:
· Through provision of advice on employing disabled people
· To participate in the development and support of the employee, and will
· Provide assistance with individual training
· Provide information on available financial supports or grants
· Support equality of opportunity processes in the workplace
USEL will continually work with businesses and disabled individuals to continually improve supports to both the employee and the employer to ensure the job match and the employment outcomes has positive results for all.
USEL’s Employment Services Officer’s travel to all areas within Northern Ireland to facilitate both participant and employer needs and have offices or community related bases in Belfast, Enniskillen, Omagh, Derry, Magherafelt, Ballymoney, Lurgan, Portadown and Newry.
