Ulster Supported Employment Ltd (USEL), provider of paid employment and related services for people with disabilities and health related conditions are celebrating their success at achieving British Safety Council (BSC) qualification.
All 108 employees achieved the Level 1 Certificate in Health and Safety at Work, a nationally recognised qualification from the British Safety Council (BSC), one of the world’s leading health and safety organisations.
USEL who provide supported paid employment for people with disabilities within its Belfast manufacturing base and deliver a range of programmes to assist people with disabilities to move into and maintain paid employment celebrated their success at a prestigious ceremony in the Long Gallery at Parliament Buildings, Stormont.
Certificates were presented by Employment and Learning Minister, Sir Reg Empey. Speaking at the event Sir Reg Empey commented “USEL‘s achievement in helping each of their employees, without exception, to achieve this nationally recognised qualification in the important area of health and safety is remarkable. Today’s ceremony is fitting recognition of USEL’s continuing commitment to promoting workforce development with its staff, and of the hard work and application on the part of the individuals concerned.”

This accolade follows USEL’s recent award of the prestigious British Safety Councils International Safety award following a rigorous and independent assessment of the organisations health and safety procedures.
