| Spanish Funding for Health and Safety Project |
|
USEL in partnership with Fundacion Once have been successful in receiving funding from Bilbao in Spain to fund a health and safety project.
Fundacion Once is a Spanish public sector organisation, which aims to facilitate the integration of disabled people into society and the world of work. This organisation will act as the lead partner in the project.
The project will devise a management system for the prevention of occupational hazards aimed at organisations employing disabled people. The system should provide senior and middle managers, as well as employees, with enhanced information on health and safety issues relating to disability matters.
The project will facilitate the exchange of 'best practice' and will design and produce a management system and user guide for the prevention of occupational hazards focusing specifically on the needs of disabled employees, particularly within manufacturing settings.
USEL will work closely with 4 other Northern Ireland disability interested organisations that are closely aligned to product outputs to ensure the transnational validation of the work undertaken by the project. It is anticipated that the work will be completed within a 12-month timeframe.
