| A New Pathway to Work |
|
USEL in partnership with Triangle Housing Association has been successful in being awarded a contract to deliver the Department of Employment and Learning’s Pathways to Work – Work Preparation Programme in the Ballymoney, Magherafelt and Lurgan areas.
USEL has nearly 45years experience in assisting people with health conditions and people with disabilities move into and remain within paid employment. Triangle Housing Association is a charitable organisation, which alongside its housing and care support, works to move people with disabilities into paid work.
The Work Preparation Programme aims to assist people who receive Incapacity Benefit (including credits only) or Income Support (because of incapacity) or Severe Disablement Allowance to explore issues that may be encountered which make it difficult to work. The programme will offer supported preparation and work experience, which will help build confidence, gain work skills and the provision of one to one support while in placement.
The Work Preparation Programme lasts for a maximum of 12 weeks, is flexible and is designed to assist individuals in a way that suits them to prepare for work through practical advice, guidance, training and support and to help overcome any barriers to employment they may have. USEL and Triangle Housing Association will explore with individuals living in the Ballymoney, Lurgan and Magherafelt areas any assistance they may need to progress along a work exploration and work experience route.
